Happy New Year, everyone! I'm so glad to reconnect with you and share some exciting news regarding the podcast.
As you may have noticed, the podcast has undergone a significant transformation – we've rebranded!
If you've been following our journey closely, you know the unexpected trademark infringement issue we faced last October under the name “broke-ish.” Two weeks into our launch and two episodes in, we received a notice to cease using the name. My initial response was to brush it off and pretend it didn't happen. However, after seeking advice, I realized it was time to face the challenge head-on. This prompted a reevaluation of the podcast's identity and a need for change to avoid potential complications.
I set a goal to complete the renaming and rebranding process by the new year. The phrase"broke-ish" no longer resonated with me, and I wanted a name that would reflect the broader range of topics I aim to explore on the show. With the help of a talented Art Director, Eva Delacruz, we compiled a list of potential names. And to involve you, our valued audience, in the decision-making process, I conducted a poll on Instagram with my top four choices. Your votes led us to the perfect name – Colby Report.
Why Colby? Well, it is my middle name, and I wanted to infuse a personal touch into the show.
Now, I'm delighted to introduce you to Colby Report!
Working with an Art Director for the first time was a new experience, and Eva brought my vision to life effortlessly. The cover art differs from my usual minimalistic style. We opted for a chunky contrasting type to convey a cozy, warm ambiance while playing with the duality and juxtaposition of words.
